Perceptions of Time is a zine that explores various interpretations of time, created during the COVID-19 lockdown when I developed a deeper appreciation for its significance. Through editorial design, the project examines time in both literal and conceptual ways, offering a diverse reading experience.

Structuring Time Through Design

To visually represent the passing of time, I structured the zine around a 24-hour framework, featuring 24 distinct articles. Each spread reflects a different hour of the day, reinforcing the theme through typography, layout, and imagery.

Expanding Perspectives on Time

Rather than adhering to a single perspective, I categorized the articles into different themes — life cycles, scientific views, cultural differences, and the commodification of time. This approach added variety and depth to the reading experience.

Refining Layout & Reader Experience

Balancing structure with readability, I experimented with typography, hierarchy, and pacing to ensure the content remained engaging. By varying article lengths and visual treatments, I created a dynamic yet cohesive design that encouraged exploration.
