Perceptions of Time

Perceptions of Time is a zine dedicated to various perceptions of time. Created during lockdown, COVID gave me a newfound appreciation for time and the value that it holds.
24 Hours of Reading
One of the key focuses of this zine is the importance of time passing, shown in both literal and figurative ways. I decided to emulate the 24 hours in a day in a direct/familiar way— by featuring 24 different articles. Each spread reflects a different clock position or hour of the standard 24 hour day.
Explorations of Time
While creating this zine, I found that it was a bit restrictive for me to look at time through a single lens. I also wanted to add variety for the reader, since I was including 24 articles that varied in length. Keeping these factors in mind, I decided to categorize articles in different ways. Some categories focused on through life-cycles, time explored through science, attempts to alter time or the “feeling” of time, the way it differs throughout various cultures, and it’s valuation as a commodity.
